Dianne Feinstein has been a stalwart of Democratic politics in California ever since her election to San Francisco city government in the 1970s.
Her party credentials are without comparison. But, that apparently isn’t enough to satisfy the Democratic party of today.
As Dan Walters noted in his July 18 CALmatters column, the executive wing of the party is turning progressive. They voted to endorse Kevin de León for U.S. Senate over Feinstein. This happened despite the fact “Feinstein whomped de León by 32 percentage points and he’s still in the running only because of California’s top-two primary election system.”
Why does is his endorsement meaningless? Read Walters’ column for an explanation.
