The mayor tweeted late Friday morning that has tested positive for the coronavirus and was experiencing “very mild symptoms.”
In accordance with the city government’s health protocols, Dyer says he is canceling all of his public events and meetings “for the next few days.”
However, Dyer said he will continue to telework on his upcoming 2022-23 budget rollout.
This is the second time that Dyer has contracted COVID-19. He also tested positive in November 2020.
Signs of a Sixth COVID Wave
Federal health officials warned Wednesday that COVID-19 cases are increasing in the United States — and could get even worse over the coming months.
Some health experts worry that the country is seeing signs of a sixth wave of COVID-19 — one driven by an omicron subvariant. COVID-19 cases increased 26% nationwide last week.
Hospitalizations also are rising across the nation, up 19% in the past week.
