Pilot Safely Lands Plane on Coalinga Road After Engine Failure

A pilot safely landed a single-engine private plane on a road in Coalinga after the aircraft experienced engine failure Thursday morning, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

The plane, a 1969 Piper PA-28-140, experienced engine failure around 11:30 a.m. The pilot landed on Jayne Avenue near Alpine Avenue.

The aircraft is registered out of Redding, California.

Fresno County sheriff’s deputies and CalFire firefighters responded to the scene. Authorities said both the pilot and the passenger were uninjured.

Authorities said the landing caused no structural damage to the plane or surrounding property.
