Homicide detectives are investigating after a man’s body was discovered Sunday morning in a canal north of Orosi, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded just before 10:30 a.m. to the Friant-Kern Canal near Avenue 444 and Road 128 after receiving a report of a body in the water.

When deputies arrived, they found a man dead in the canal, authorities said.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began investigating the death.

The Sheriff’s Office did not release the man’s identity or additional details about the circumstances surrounding his death.
