Madera police are asking for the public’s help identifying a woman captured on surveillance video taking money that had been accidentally left behind at a local business.

Police released an image of the unidentified woman as part of the department’s “Who Is This Wednesday” effort.

Authorities said the money had been left behind by a previous customer.

Anyone who recognizes the woman or has information is asked to call the Madera Police Department at (559) 675-4220 or Valley Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.

Callers can remain anonymous, police said.
