Two people were found with gunshot wounds Thursday afternoon after Tulare County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of shots fired in Woodville, authorities said.

Deputies were called to the 16000 block of Reed Avenue just before 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, according to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Sheriff’s detectives were at the scene Thursday afternoon investigating the shooting. The Sheriff’s Office asked the public to avoid the area if possible.

No additional information about the two people, their conditions or the circumstances surrounding the shooting was immediately released.

The Sheriff’s Office said more information would be released as it becomes available.
