Clovis DUI Checkpoint Nets No Arrests, 11 License Violations

Clovis police reported no DUI arrests after screening nearly 500 drivers during a checkpoint Friday night.

The DUI checkpoint was conducted from 8:30 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday on westbound Herndon Avenue at Helm Avenue, between Peach and Willow avenues, according to Clovis police.

Police said 993 vehicles passed through the checkpoint and officers screened 493 of them.

No drivers were arrested for driving under the influence. Officers reported 11 driver’s license violations.

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
