A kitchen fire in a Visalia duplex spread to the attic Thursday afternoon before firefighters brought the blaze under control, authorities said.

Visalia firefighters responded at about 3:30 p.m. to a structure fire in the 2900 block of West Walnut Avenue, according to the Visalia Fire Department.

The fire originated in the kitchen and extended into the attic of the duplex, officials said.

No injuries were reported among residents or fire personnel.

Firefighters extinguished the flames and had the situation under control within about 15 minutes, according to officials.
