A man was arrested on multiple charges Tuesday after police say he threatened a victim, damaged property, attempted to strike the victim with a vehicle, and later fled the scene before being found and determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Police said the incident began at about 9 a.m., when Alejandro Medina and a victim argued over money. Medina allegedly told the victim he could break her nose by throwing a full 32-ounce aluminum beer can at her and raised the can in a throwing motion before the victim stopped him.
Authorities said Medina then caused more than $400 in damage to the victim’s property. When officers arrived and attempted to contact him, Medina allegedly reversed his truck toward the victim and nearly struck her before fleeing the residence.
Police said Medina was later involved in a hit-and-run collision near East Kings Canyon Road and South Willow Avenue. He was eventually located and detained near Jensen and Clovis avenues.
According to police, Medina was evaluated and determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
After being medically cleared, he was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges including criminal threats, vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon, DUI, and hit-and-run.
