The nonprofit that oversees many of Fresno County’s farmers market events released its 2026 plans for River Park Shopping Center, with the first event coming this Tuesday.

Now in its 27th year, California Fresh Farmers Market Association has 35 events planned for the weekly Tuesday gathering.

In addition, the association is continuing its ongoing effort to collect unused food from farmers market participants and deliver it to hungry families.

The River Park Farmers Market kicks off its first event with a barbecue and brews theme, celebrating National Beer Day. Other events throughout the year include a garlic night, an Italian night, flavors of Asia, and two Mexican nights — good guessers can pick which months those events fall in.

Cherries, honey, pickles, and bacon all get their own nights. And for fantasy fans, anime, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars each get special events.

Events include not only themed offerings from vendors but also live entertainment to complete the vibe.

Fresh Rescue Program Sends Food to Hungry Families

At the end of each night, organizers will collect food from participating vendors and send it to families through both the Fresno Mission and the Central California Food Bank.

The association is calling it the “Fresh Rescue” program.

“For the farmers and vendors who participate, Fresh Rescue transforms unsold inventory into something far more meaningful than a loss — it becomes a direct contribution to the community they serve each week,” a news release stated.
