A Visalia Unified School District employee was arrested Tuesday in connection with the theft of a $5,600 camera, authorities said.

Visalia police identified Damien Rutledge, 29, as the suspect after the district reported the missing equipment on December 8, 2025.

The camera had been sold and shipped out of state but was later recovered, police said.

Rutledge was booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility on a charge of grand theft.
