Tumblr Goes Down for Thousands, Downdetector Reports

Tumblr experienced a possible outage Friday, according to Downdetector.com.

More than 18,000 users had reported problems with the platform as of 3:48 p.m. PST, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collecting status reports from multiple sources.

Most users who reported an issue to Downdetector said that they had issues with the mobile application.

Update at 4:05 p.m.

More than 29,000 users have now reported an issue regarding Tumblr.

Tumblr took to social media and said, “Some fellow named … how do I pronounced this? “Goncharov”? … tripped on a power cable and unplugged the server! Jokes aside, apologies if Tumblr isn’t working. We’re fixing! Back ASAP.”

Update at 4:15 p.m.

More than 33,000 users have now reported an issue with Tumblr to Downdetector.
