The Tejon Pass rest areas on I-5 have closed again due to rainfall accumulation in overflow ponds, Caltrans said.

The rest areas are expected to remain closed until after an incoming storm system moves through the area, which is anticipated to last into Thursday, Jan. 8.

Caltrans advised motorists traveling into the Central Valley to plan accordingly. The nearest available rest areas are located along I-5 just north of Buttonwillow and on Highway 99 just south of Tulare, Caltrans noted.

Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time for travel and to use alternate rest locations while the closures remain in effect.
