Fresno police arrested seven people for suspected DUI on Saturday night, the department reported Monday.
Police manned the checkpoint at Van Ness and Amador Street in downtown Fresno from 9 p.m. Saturday until 4 a.m. Sunday.
Eleven drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license. A total of 262 vehicles were contacted, authorities said.
Next DUI Enforcement Operation
DUI checkpoint locations are based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes, a Fresno police spokesperson said. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
The next scheduled DUI enforcement operation is a saturation patrol on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
