The man was identified as Anthony Thomas of Fresno, by the Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office on Monday.
The collision occurred around 3:05 a.m. just east of Blythe Avenue, when the man’s Alfa Romeo swerved right, hitting several brick pillars, a wrought iron fence, and a chain-link fence, the CHP representative said.
The driver, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities haven’t yet determined if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
