Two high schools in Fresno issued security measures Wednesday afternoon after receiving threats, according to Fresno Unified School District officials.

The Fresno Police Department said Fresno High School and Bullard High School were among the campuses affected.

Fresno High was under lockdown while Bullard was under a shelter-in-place order.  Police confirmed that both schools were cleared.

Police described the threats as unsubstantiated.

No additional details were immediately released.

Update at 3:53 p.m.

The Fresno Unified School District said that Gibson Elementary School was placed into a shelter-in-place because of its proximity to Bullard High School.

The district noted that the threats were “swatting calls.”

Clovis High School Under Shelter-in-Place

Clovis High School also had a shelter-in-place order on Wednesday.

Police responded to the school after a reported threat to the campus, authorities said.

Clovis police officers were assisting Clovis Unified School District police and school staff regarding the threat, according to a statement posted at 1:28 p.m.

The district confirmed the shelter-in-place, saying that “This is to keep students indoors and limit outside movement around campus while we work with Clovis Police Department to investigate a suspicious call that was made to our school.”

At 2:07 p.m., the district said that Clovis High School was still under a shelter-in-place order.

Later in the afternoon, at 2:4 p.m., the Clovis Unified School District said that the high school was released from the shelter-in-place order.
