"Fox & Friends" gave former President Donald Trump about 30 minutes of airtime to react to Wednesday night's DNC speeches. He called Vice President Kamala Harris "a lunatic" and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz "a lightweight." A co-host corrected one of Trump's statements after he left the air. (Doug Mills/The New York Times)

Former President Donald Trump appeared on Fox & Friends Thursday morning, delivering a lengthy and disjointed phone interview where he sharply criticized the Democratic ticket of presidential nominee Kamala Harris and VP selection Tim Walz and engaged in his trademark name-calling.

Speaking for about 30 minutes, Trump’s comments seemed scattered, resembling a collection of news headlines rather than a coherent argument.

“This country is finished. She’s a Marxist,” said Trump, who also called Harris “a lunatic.”

Trump described Walz as “a lightweight” and a “terrible governor.”

When told by co-host Brian Kilmeade that a potential victory would be one of the greatest political comebacks in history, Trump responded confidently, asserting that his campaign is leading in the polls and would continue to do so.

“Brian, if I might say, you know, we’re leading in the polls. And without that working hard, you mentioned that, you know, RFK would be the biggest thing. I said, well, we made, making big speeches every day. We’re going to make another one. So we’re really out there, but we’re leading in the polls, and we’re going to continue, and we’re going to win. November fifth is the most important day in the history of our country, remember that because otherwise we aren’t going to have a country,” said Trump.

Trump is continuing the fear that if he does not win this election, there will no longer be a country left to hold another election in.

Fox Corrects Trump About One of His Claims

During the interview, Trump alleged that Vice President Harris met with President Vladimir Putin just before the Ukraine invasion. After the call ended, Kilmeade stated that the claim has never been confirmed while another host argued that the frequent repetition of the allegation might lend it credibility.

Kilmeade said he did not think that Harris had even met Putin.
