Two men were arrested Saturday after a traffic stop in Fresno led officers to discover multiple firearms and an attachable silencer, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Officers assigned to the Southwest Policing District stopped a vehicle around 5:09 p.m. at Bemont and Van Ness avenues for expired registration.
Police said the driver, Robert Eldridge, 49, was driving with a suspended license and had an active felony warrant.
Officers suspected Eldridge was driving under the influence and arrested him following a DUI investigation, police said. He was also arrested on the outstanding warrant.
During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers found an AR rifle with no serial number, an attachable silencer and scope, a .45-caliber handgun, and a .25-caliber compact handgun, according to police.
The passenger, Alfonso Ramos, 41, had prior felony convictions and was arrested on several firearm-related charges, police said.
Eldridge and Ramos were booked into the Fresno County Jail.
