GV Wire will sit down with Fresno County Board of Supervisors District 1 candidate Mike Karbassi on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 6 to 7 p.m., after a planned candidate forum changed when his opponent pulled out.

Karbassi’s opponent, Kerman Mayor Maria Pacheco, withdrew from the scheduled forum, turning the event into a one-on-one sitdown with Karbassi, a Fresno City Councilmember representing northwest neighborhoods.

Karbassi and Pacheco advanced to the November runoff for the seat, which is being vacated by longtime incumbent Brian Pacheco.

Brian Pacheco, who isn’t related to Maria Pacheco, is running for an Assembly seat against former Merced Mayor Mike Murphy.
