A 26-year-old woman was arrested early Sunday after leading Visalia police on a short pursuit, authorities said.

Just after 1 a.m., a Visalia Police Department officer saw a vehicle swerving near Mineral King Avenue and Conyer Street and attempted to make a traffic stop.

Police said the driver failed to yield, starting a pursuit that ended when the vehicle stopped near Main and Turner streets.

The driver, identified as Alyssa Diaz, was determined to be driving under the influence and was arrested.

Diaz was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and evading a peace officer in a vehicle.
