Two men were arrested and two illegally possessed ghost guns were recovered following a traffic stop Thursday afternoon near the 400 block of West Yosemite Street, the Madera Police Department said.

Police said an officer stopped a vehicle, leading to the arrests of Eric Calzada, 19, the driver, and passenger, Alexander Pimentel, 18.

During the investigation, Pimentel fled on foot but was quickly apprehended about one block away, police said.

Authorities said Pimentel was found carrying a ghost gun when he was arrested. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a second ghost gun.

Calzada and Pimentel were booked into the Madera County Jail on weapons charges.
