A Fresno man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 52-year-old woman was found dead near a dumpster in northwest Fresno, police said.
Officers responded Sunday to the area of Fallbrook and Maroa avenues after receiving a report of a deceased person. When they arrived, they found Jennifer “Michelle” Jones of Fresno near a dumpster. Emergency medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
Police homicide detectives responded and determined Jones was the victim of a homicide.
On Wednesday, detectives arrested Michael Koontz, 58, of Fresno. Police said Koontz was an associate of the victim. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail on a murder charge.
