Suspect, Victim Injured in Chowchilla Stabbing

A stabbing in Chowchilla on Monday left both the victim and the suspected assailant injured, police said.

Officers responded at about 5 p.m. Monday to the area of East Robertson Boulevard and the Ash Slough after receiving a report of a stabbing, according to the Chowchilla Police Department.

During the investigation, officers located the victim, who suffered minor injuries and was treated and cleared by medical personnel at the scene.

A short time later, officers found the suspect near North Chowchilla Boulevard and Kings Avenue. Police said the suspect had also suffered a stab wound to the lower back.

Members of the Chowchilla Volunteer Fire Department and American Ambulance provided medical aid before the suspect was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police said the stabbing is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
