A tutor at a Fresno high school has been arrested on charges of arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes and possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Keebtsim Txhim Christopher Xiong, 26, of Fresno, was taken into custody by detectives with the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail and bail was set at $100,000. Xiong has since posted bond and been released pending a future court date.

Xiong worked as an after-school tutor at Fresno High School through California Teaching Fellows Foundation, a private company contracted by the Fresno Unified School District. Following his arrest, his employer placed him on administrative leave.

Investigators launched the probe after receiving a tip that Xiong had been inappropriately communicating with minors through group chats on the online platform Discord. Preliminary evidence indicates Xiong exchanged child sexual abuse material with children and attempted to arrange an in-person meeting with at least one of them, authorities said.

Because of Xiong’s role within the school district, detectives said they are concerned additional victims may not have come forward.
