Emergency crews are responding after a fire hydrant was struck by a car at Mineral King Avenue and Conyer Street in Visalia on Tuesday, causing a significant release of water in the area, according to the Visalia Police Department.

Cal Water has been notified and is responding to the incident.

Officials are urging the public to avoid the area to allow emergency and utility crews to work safely and to reduce traffic impacts.
