A Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy seized 11 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 west of Firebaugh, authorities said Wednesday.
According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy conducting patrol made a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation and contacted the driver. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy discovered 11 pounds of cocaine packaged for sale.
The driver was arrested and booked into jail on charges related to narcotics possession and possession with intent to sell, the sheriff’s office said.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and the suspect’s name was not immediately available for release.
