A teenage boy riding an electric bicycle was critically injured Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Rose and Highland avenues, according to the Selma Police Department.

Officers responded to the crash at about 1:37 p.m. and determined the teen had been hit by a vehicle near the intersection.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said. Investigators found no indication that drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.

The teen was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. His identity was not released because of his age.
