Fresno police arrested two drivers on suspicion of driving under the influence during a weekend enforcement operation targeting known street-racing hot spots across the city, authorities said.
The Fresno Police Department’s Motors Unit conducted focused enforcement at several locations where street racing and related activity have been reported, the Fresno Police Department reported on Monday.
Police said some areas experienced moderate car-club activity, but crowds dispersed quickly when officers arrived. No sideshow-related calls were reported anywhere in the city during the operation.
According to the department, officers stopped 78 vehicles and issued 78 citations. Three vehicles were towed, and one case was referred to the state. The operation also resulted in four misdemeanor arrests and one felony arrest.
