A 42-year-old Fresno man died after he was found injured in a roadway early Wednesday, and police are investigating the case as a homicide.
Officers were dispatched at 2:01 a.m. to the area of Divisadero and Abby streets after receiving a report of a person lying in the roadway, according to the Fresno Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found Kyle Beachy of Fresno suffering from injuries to his upper body. Officers and emergency medical personnel performed life-saving measures before Beachy was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Beachy later died at the hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began an investigation. Detectives believe a disturbance involving multiple people occurred before Beachy’s death.
Investigators were canvassing the neighborhood Wednesday and seeking witnesses who may have information about the incident.
The killing is Fresno’s 12th homicide of 2026, according to police.
