A Fresno driver was cited for reckless driving and misdemeanor child endangerment after police said he was caught doing burnouts in a pickup truck while carrying a woman and a 1-year-old child as passengers.
The incident happened Wednesday at about 5:28 p.m. when Fresno police helicopter Air1 spotted a red Chevy truck doing burnouts near Fresno and Ashlan avenues, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Air1 tracked the truck to Blackstone and Fairmont avenues while directing motorcycle officers to the vehicle’s location for a traffic stop, police said.
Officers contacted the driver, who admitted to the driving violation, police said.
An adult woman and a 1-year-old baby were also inside the truck at the time, authorities said.
The driver was cited for reckless driving and misdemeanor child endangerment, and the truck was impounded for 30 days.
Police said traffic enforcement operations continue throughout Fresno during the day and night, both from the air and on the ground.
