The Selma Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect involved in an armed robbery earlier this month in which a rifle was brandished and cash was taken, according to authorities on Tuesday.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 1 p.m. on Saturday to the intersection of Sheridan and Valley View streets following a report of a robbery that had just occurred, police said. Investigators determined a suspect and a vehicle were involved in the incident.

According to police, the suspect brandished a rifle during the robbery and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot before entering a vehicle driven by an additional unidentified individual believed to be acting as the getaway driver.
