A 19-year-old man was arrested Saturday after Fresno police officers found them in possession of a loaded handgun during a traffic stop, authorities said.

An officer was proactively patrolling near McKinzie Avenue and Calaveras Street when they conducted a traffic enforcement stop.

Police said the driver did not have a valid driver’s license, and the vehicle was towed.

During the stop, officers found that passenger Dene Young, 19, was in possession of a loaded Glock 48 9mm handgun.

Young was booked into the Fresno County Jail, police said.
