A 34-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after officers found live ammunition inside a replica firearm in a vehicle, according to Fresno police.
Police said officers were patrolling the area of Tulare and Collins streets on Wednesday when they contacted a man who was on probation.
The man, later identified as Jesus Torres, was acting suspiciously and attempted to distance himself from a vehicle he had been sitting in before officers made contact, police said.
Officers looked inside the vehicle and saw a firearm in plain view. After inspecting it, officers determined the gun was a replica, but it was loaded with live reloaded ammunition.
Torres was booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and an active probation warrant.
