Liam Coen and James Gladstone poached another member of their old team. The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Los Angeles Rams’ running back Cody Schrader off the practice squad after they traded running back Tank Bigsby to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.

Schrader, 26, was elevated from the practice squad for the Rams’ Week 1 win over the Houston Texans. He played just four special teams snaps for L.A. He had played 10 special teams snaps and two offensive snaps in 2024.

While Schrader didn’t have a big role on Sunday, he was the No. 3 running back behind Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. Rookie Jarquez Hunter was a health scratch from the game. Williams dominated the carries in Week 1 with 18 rushing attempts on 49 snaps. Corum had one rush and one reception on 10 snaps.

With Schrader gone, Hunter should get a shot to be activated for Week 2, so long as he’s available to support on special teams like Schrader did during his time with the Rams. The team doesn’t have any other running backs on the roster at the moment, either, so they could add another one to take Schrader’s practice squad spot.
