A 17-year-old gang member has been arrested in connection with multiple stabbings in Terra Bella, authorities said.

Tulare County sheriff’s deputies responded just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday to the 24700 block of Avenue 88 for a report of a stabbing. Several people had been stabbed, deputies said, but the suspects had already left the scene.

Witnesses told investigators the suspects were members of a local gang. Detectives later identified a 17-year-old Porterville resident, an active member of the Norteño gang, as a suspect in the attack.

On Tuesday, detectives arrested the teen in Porterville. During a search of his home, authorities found a gun, gun parts, ammunition, high-capacity magazines compatible with AR-15 style rifles, and gang-related clothing and materials.

The suspect was booked into the Juvenile Detention Facility on attempted murder charges, authorities said.
