A driver was arrested on multiple charges after Southwest District Street Team officers conducted a traffic stop near Belmont Avenue and Parkway Drive, the Fresno Police Department said Monday.
Police said the vehicle was initially pulled over for several equipment violations. During the stop, officers observed signs of alcohol intoxication and called in motorcycle officers to conduct a DUI evaluation.
The driver was determined to be under the influence, according to authorities.
The suspect, who reportedly identified himself as a gang member, was arrested following a search of the vehicle that uncovered a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number.
He was booked into the Fresno County Jail on multiple weapon-related charges and DUI.
Officers also issued citations for the original equipment violations.
