A woman has been arrested in connection with a large vegetation fire that broke out Sunday near Armstrong Avenue and Highway 180, the Fresno Fire Department said in a statement.
The fire, which scorched several acres of dry brush, prompted a significant response from the Fresno Fire Department due to its size and proximity to nearby buildings.
Crews were able to contain the blaze before it caused any structural damage or injuries.
Witnesses reported seeing a woman intentionally set the fire. Following an investigation, fire officials and law enforcement identified the suspect as Diana Rivas, 35.
She was later arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail.
Rivas faces three counts of arson and one count of attempted arson, officials said.
