Madera police arrested two juveniles Friday in connection with an in-progress vehicle burglary near Chablis and Merlot avenues, the Madera Police Department said in a statement.

Officers quickly arrived to the area and a caller helped police locate the two suspects, who were attempting to flee the scene.

Investigators say the juveniles were found with burglary tools and stolen property.

They were later booked into Juvenile Hall on charges including conspiracy, attempted stolen vehicle, gang enhancement, and multiple theft-related offenses.

Police credited the alert resident for playing a key role in helping solve several related crimes in the area.
