A 77-year-old man was arrested Thursday following an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation by Visalia police, the department said in a statement.

Visalia Police Department’s Youth Service Officers launched the investigation in March after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Detectives identified Terry Pitts as a suspect and obtained a search warrant for a residence near Akers and First streets, right next to Willow Glen Elementary School.

Pitts was taken into custody and booked at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility on charges of possessing child sexual abuse material.
