Rep. Costa Says DOGE Is Making 'Hasty,' Uninformed Decisions

Rep. Jim Costa (D-Fresno) shared his thoughts on Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency during a visit to Fresno on Friday.
Costa was in town for the swearing-in ceremony of Mindy Casto, who became the 24th police chief of Fresno.

Costa criticized DOGE for making “hasty” decisions without using the necessary information to make informed choices.
“This going through with a hacksaw, I don’t think is the proper way to go about it,” said Costa. “This is going to hurt our unemployment numbers. I mean, where are these people going to find jobs who are working today and paying taxes? So, I think this was not well thought out.”
