Ulises Lupian, 20, has been charged with crimes for two separate incidents, including the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl on Wednesday, the Tulare District Attorney’s office said in a news release.

The charges include three felony counts of lewd acts and two felony counts of attempted lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14.
Lupian is also charged with one misdemeanor count of annoying or molesting a child in a separate March 7 incident against an additional victim. He is also charged with one misdemeanor count of engaging in lewd conduct for a public incident on April 16.

Lupian could face up to 12 years in state prison and be placed on the sex offender registration if convicted of all charges according to California law.
The suspect pleaded not guilty on Friday and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Sept. 12.
He is being held at the Bob Wiley Detention Facility with no bail.
