Imagine being 20 years old and sentenced to spend at least the next 20 years — if not the rest of your life — in prison.

That’s the reality for gang member Myles Gonzales after his sentencing last week in Tulare County Superior Court for two 2020 Visalia shootings.

Gonzales previously pleaded guilty to a host of felonies stemming from his participation in gang-related shootings at the Little Caesars pizza shop and the Relax Inn.

Victims Recover

Three men were taken to the hospital in the pizza shop shooting but all recovered from their injuries. No one was hurt in the motel shooting.

California’s youthful offender laws require that Gonzales serve at least 20 years of his life sentence before being considered for parole.

Tulare County deputy DA Michael Caldwell prosecuted the case, which was investigated by Visalia PD’s special enforcement unit.
