On May 10th, after days of mass demonstrations by Palestinians in East Jerusalem, Israel began an aerial bombardment of the Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire from Hamas. In what has become the most significant Israeli military operation since 2014, the bombing has killed more than 200 Palestinians since Monday, including more than 60 children. Hamas rocket fire has killed 12 Israelis, including two children and one Israeli soldier.
