A Las Vegas man has been arrested after Fresno police linked him to 12 residential burglaries across the city, authorities said.

The Fresno Police Department said detectives began investigating an increase in late-night residential burglaries in during July and August. Cash and jewelry were the primary items reported stolen.

Similar burglaries occurred on Oct. 3.

Around the same time, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office identified Jordon Packard, 33, of Las Vegas as a suspect in a burglary within its jurisdiction, police said.

Another burglary was reported Oct. 17 in Fresno’s Northeast District, where several thousand dollars worth of unique jewelry and collectible coins were stolen.

Detectives from the Northeast and Northwest policing districts worked together and determined Packard was responsible for burglaries in both areas, police said.

Packard was arrested Oct. 21 near Blackstone and Santa Ana avenues.

During the arrest, detectives recovered several pieces of gold jewelry from Packard, including a distinctive gold necklace that police said had recently been stolen.

A search warrant connected to the investigation led detectives to recover a loaded 9mm Sig Sauer handgun, additional gold jewelry, coins, paperwork, and jewelry bags, police said.

Packard was booked into the Fresno County Jail on multiple counts of residential burglary and firearms-related offenses.

Investigators have linked Packard to 12 burglaries in Fresno.
