Have unneeded or expired prescription drugs at your house?
You can drop them off Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s the 18th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Earlier this year, in April, people across America turned in 469 tons of prescription drugs.

Vaping Devices and Cartridges Accepted

The event has received enthusiastic support since it began in 2010. Earlier this year, in April, people across America turned in 469 tons of prescription drugs.
There will be a new wrinkle Saturday.
For the first time, the Drug Enforcement Agency — along with its national, tribal, and community partners —  will accept vaping devices and cartridges at its drop-off locations.
“The DEA encourages individuals to help make the community safer by removing unwanted prescription medications from their homes,” said Chris Nielsen, DEA Special Agent of the San Francisco division. “This semi-annual event is a chance to do that anonymously and safely. For the first time in the history of this program we will be accepting vaping devices and cartridges.”

How to Find a Drop-Off Site

There are more than 150 registered drop-off sites in central and northern California. The public can find a nearby collection site at this link or by calling 800 882-9539.
The Fresno drop-off is at the DEA district office in River Park.
