If you had an active Facebook account in the U.S. between May 2007 and December 2022, you have until August 25 to claim your part of a $725 million settlement.
This comes as a result of Facebook’s privacy violations during the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
Meta, Facebook’s parent company has had to pay billions due to the scandal. This includes $5 billion to the Federal Trade Commission and $100 million to the SEC.
Now, according to the class action lawsuit which was signed in December of 2022, the company will be paying out $725 million to those who qualify.
Qualifying Facebook users can make a claim at Facebookuserprivacysettlement.com. This isn’t Facebook admitting they did anything wrong, they just have to pay up.
