One of the best places to skinny dip in the country is just a quick trip from Fresno to the mountains.

Bass Lake is considered one of the USA’s best places to go au natural. It ranks 30th overall according to dating website MyDatingAdviser.com.

“Refreshing lake surrounded by pine trees. Provides a serene and refreshing swimming experience in a natural setting,” said MyDatingAdviser.com.

The Bass Lake Chamber website boasts that it has “Emerald green waters, majestic pines, and mother nature … come see the beauty that is Bass Lake.”  However, there is no info about skinny dipping or a nude beach.

The dating website compared 800 swimming holes to find the best nude spots in the nation.

Abiquiu Lake in New Mexico ranks at the top of the list.

Central Coast Locations

The 13 ranked locations in California include Pirate’s Cove at Avila Beach, along the Central Coast. Located off of Avila Beach Drive, seekers of the all-over tan must drive up a hill, park in a dirt lot, then hike back down to the beach — a cove naturally.

“Secluded beach with a stunning view of the cliffs and ocean. Popular for its clothing-optional atmosphere,” MyDatingAdviser.com said.

Gaviota State Park in Santa Barbara County was selected as another Central Coast favorite.

Bring the Sunscreen and Bug Spray

MyDatingAdviser.com offers practical tips for natural sunbathing.

“Don’t forget sunscreen and bug spray. You don’t want to get a sunburn in that spot that usually doesn’t see the light of day,” said the website.

Other advice: Don’t flaunt what Mother Nature provided, no photos, and beware of leeches — literally and figuratively.
