An operation Saturday night by the Fresno Police Department resulted in 13 arrests of suspected drunk drivers.
The citywide effort of patrols and checkpoints come as part of a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Another operation will be held Saturday, Aug. 15.
Those drivers facing a first time offense pay on average $13,500 in fines and penalties. Drivers sentenced with DUI may also have their licenses suspended.
