GV Wire News Director Bill McEwen and KMPH Fox 26 “Great Day” anchor Kim Stephens talk about what’s next after a Fresno County Board of Supervisors’ vote blocked the path for a half-cent transportation tax extension to go on the November ballot.
Supervisor Nathan Magsig led a master class in cross examination of Better Roads Safe Streets leaders and showed the potential to move up to Congress in the years ahead, McEwen said.
As it is, Magsig is a prohibitive favorite to win election to the state Senate in the heavily Republican 12th District.
The initiative faces an Aug. 7 deadline to qualify for November ballot, and the review of the initiative’s impacts is expected to take 30 days. When the report is completed, the Better Roads Safe Streets proposal could then go to the voters in the 2028 primary election.
