The owners behind a successful Visalia golf concept will be bringing their indoor simulator and sports bar to north Fresno, filling the space left by Lassen’s grocery store across the road from Woodward Park.

A liquor license for Mulligan’s Fresno was posted recently in the window, listing Shane Moss as the CEO of the golf club and sports bar.

A call to Mulligan’s in Visalia confirmed that the business would “soon” be opening in Fresno. Moss was not immediately available. The city of Fresno in August 2025 notified neighbors of the business proposal.

A look inside the windows at the Fresno location reveals the space is still largely undeveloped.

With golf simulators and a “stylish, modern sports bar lounge,” Mulligan’s describes itself as “ideal for the avid golfer focused on performance and skill development, as well as the casual golfer looking for a fun, social round.”

Moss Appears Ready to Expand His Golf Simulator Business

Before opening in August 2024, Moss described Mulligan’s in Visalia as a “pilot,” with the goal of opening four or five locations including in Fresno, Clovis, and Bakersfield.

At nearly 13,000 square feet, the former Lassen’s site will give Mulligan’s even more room to play with than at Visalia’s 8,000-square-foot location where the Visalia Times Delta says there are seven indoor golf bays, a full bar, and a full-service kitchen.

There, the golf club offers leagues, special promotional nights, and a variety of food from tacos and burgers to pizza.

Golf simulators have driven a lot of interest in Fresno. Just down the road from where the new Mulligan’s will be is The Fairway Lounge at the Park Crossing Shopping Center.

Meanwhile, Chukchansi and Top Golf have partnered for a couple of golf simulators at the casino near Coarsegold. In early 2024, Fresno law enforcement and the city attorney’s office raided AOA Private Golf Club where investigators found thousands of dollars of illegal cannabis.
